Preschool: Color Blue

Gathering song: “If You’re Ready”

If you’re ready for a story, take a seat

Introduction: Together we brainstormed things that are blue. Some of the answers I got included sky, ocean, and birds. Visual cues in the room helped the kids with this.

Flannelboard rhyme: “Five Little Bluebirds”

Five little blue birds, hopping by my door
One went to build a nest, and then there were four.

This time we did two rhymes, "Humpty Dumpty" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."

Couldn't put Humpty together again

I passed out shapes to the children and they brought the pieces to the flannelboard during the matching verse. Everyone had a blue square for the last verse. They enjoyed feeding the Shape Monster!
